Adult Leadership Changes
Wednesday October 4, 2006 18:00 pm PDT
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ross Arnold as the
new Lodge Adviser. Ross holds a number of educational degrees and
appointments, and he will do a fine job of leading our Lodge. He is
an active Scouter in the Los Angeles Area Council, his last big
assignment being Assistant Scoutmaster of a National Jamboree
contingent. Ross is a Vigil member of the OA, and was the
Spe-Le-Yai Lodge Chief as a youth member of Sle-Le-Yai many
years ago. He has served successfully as a Scoutmaster, Cubmaster,
Unit Commissioner, Council Board member, and he has experience with
the Learning for Life programs. Ross has a good understanding of
our Lodge and its current challenges, and has accepted this position
knowing that his job is to mentor and develop leadership to serve in
the Lodge Adviser position in the years following him. Ross was
active in inviting Spe-Le-Yai to participate in the recent Siwinis
Lodge ordeal, and has had an opportunity to observe our leadership
and youth in action.
We would also like to announce our new Associate Lodge Adviser Josh Hodges. Josh is a Vigil Honor member, a Founders' Award and Song of the Coyote recipient. He has been a past Lodge Chief as well as holding many other positions within the council and his troop.
We would like to thank Jim Adams and Carol Olen for all of their hard work and dedication to Spe-Le-Yai Lodge as Lodge Adviser and Associate Lodge Adviser.
Let us all help make this new transition an easy one for our brothers. We will have our monthly lodge meeting next Thursday the 12th, come and show your support.
