The Ordeal

Ordeal Sash

The purpose of the Ordeal is for an Order of the Arrow Candidate to become an Arrowman. Spe-Le-Yai Lodge sponsors two to three Ordeals per calendar year depending on the number of candidates.

Camp Verdugo Oaks SignOur Ordeals are conducted at Camp Verdugo Oaks our Council's Scout Camp. The Ordeal starts on a Friday evening and is over by mid-day Sunday.

The Ordeal is a weekend of work and fellowship. The only items you should bring include:

  1. A sleeping bag
  2. Work Clothes
  3. A jacket
  4. Full Class A uniform
  5. Personal hygiene items
  6. Hiking boots

Camp Verdugo Oaks is located at 38001 Golden State Highway, Castaic, CA 91384.

To get to Camp Verdugo Oaks you take Interstate 5 North, exit Templin hwy. turn left onto Templin hwy. turn right onto Golden State Highway. Verdugo Oaks is located behind the U.S. forest Service Fire Department.
